Official announcement

"What's next? Season 2, co-op and more" — the developer's post in its official English version, reproduced for reference with credit to the PokéBonk team (Oct 19, 2026).

Season 2

There are only a few days left until Season 1 ends. It was our first season, what we could call the BETA season: it helped us find the sweet spot between getting your feedback and, at the same time, working on new features and improvements.

First of all, we want to own up to a mistake on our side. During the season we kept making gameplay changes, like the tweaks to Poké Balls or to the economy. That meant that those who played at the start, with the game's initial state, had an easier time climbing the rankings than those playing now. In other words, not all of you competed under the same conditions.

We own our mistake and we're telling you right now that this won't happen again.

Once a season starts, the core of the gameplay, the mechanics and the economy will stay as they are, unless there is a serious bug. If that happens, whatever was gained by those who exploited it will be proportionally reverted.

During a season, we will only:

  • Fix bugs.
  • Make QoL improvements.
  • Prepare content for the next season.

Will Gen 2 arrive in Season 2?

Not yet. We still think we need to stabilize and settle the foundations of PokéBonk, and for that we want to learn from the first 151 Pokémon. That doesn't stop us from adding new content in Season 2 to keep expanding the game:

  • 2 new maps
  • New bosses
  • Rework of the final bosses of Viridian Forest and Rocky Desert
  • Mega Evolutions
  • New achievements
  • New items
  • New mechanics and map events
  • …

Between seasons

There are less than 2 days left until Season 1 ends. There will be 1-2 days between the two seasons: you'll be able to keep playing as usual in the meantime, but runs won't count for the ladder until Season 2 begins.

In the coming hours we'll announce the exact date, along with all the new content.

Co-op

We have it all planned out and it will launch shortly after Season 2. More details very soon. We want to make sure that, in terms of server and infrastructure, it doesn't destabilize our current project. We want to build a fun experience and get the most out of PokéBonk with your friends. Many more details soon.

Donations

Many of you ask how to support the project financially, and we appreciate it, but for now I can cover the project's costs myself. If this ever grows too much, we'd look into a transparent donation system to ONLY pay the expenses, and we'd stop taking donations once they were covered. It's not a priority, because the game is growing a lot, yes, but for now it's manageable as far as infrastructure goes.

Thank you

We also want to thank everyone who takes the time to send great feedback and very detailed bug reports: you help us a lot to keep improving the game. Keep it up!

Very soon, more information about Season 2 and its date.

A hug to you all, Charcher
