How evolution works in a run
- You always start a run as the base form at level 1.
- A middle stage (like Ivysaur) arrives between level 16 and 30; a final stage (like Venusaur) between 36 and 50.
- Some partners use their own levels: Caterpie and Weedle evolve at 8 and 36, the fossils and Magikarp at 40.
- Eevee chooses its evolution at level 36.
- Evolving upgrades your stats and, for most partners, the next stage of your Ultimate.

When does Bulbasaur evolve in PokéBonk?
Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur at level 24 and into Venusaur at level 41 during a run. Charmander evolves at 24 and 44, Squirtle at 24 and 44.
Why are PokéBonk evolution levels higher than in the main games?
Runs level you up quickly, so the game spreads evolutions out. A middle stage evolves between level 16 and 30, and a final stage between 36 and 50, based on the main-series level. Some partners, like Caterpie and Weedle, have their own faster levels.
Does evolution carry over between runs?
No. Every run starts from the base form at level 1, and you evolve again during the run. Evolving also upgrades your Ultimate for partners with a multi-stage Ultimate.
How does Eevee evolve?
At level 36 Eevee evolves into Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon — you choose. Its Ultimate, Elemental Evolution, changes with the form you pick.
